Stay away from jargon or complex terms. If you have to use an industry acronym, think about who you are speaking to, and if you need to explain it.
DO NOT SEND A PIECE OF MARKETING OUT WITHOUT IT BEING SIGNED OFF by either by the copywriter or the QA person.
